End of Life Celebrations are a new kind of memorial that honors the legacy of a loved one who has passed on, and celebrates the life that they led. It tells the story of the person who lived and loved well. It is not a funeral, and is not the traditional way of saying goodbye.

A New Alternative

Traditionally, friends and family gather for a viewing and a funeral, followed by a reception after. The choices and locations are few, and the costs are traditionally very high.

We offer an entirely new way of creating and hosting a celebration of life. Many people do not want a conventional or religious service, and many do not want a viewing after death. Some people are not being traditionally buried, opting instead for cremation. This creates the need for a new way of hosting a memorial outside of a funeral home, but without the extensive planning and work of creating a self-catered and organized event.

End of Life Celebrations offers a way of saying goodbye that allows you to celebrate with your guests, in a natural, beautiful environment.   • We can provide a celebrant to lead your ceremony, or work with the officiant or clergy of your choice.
  • A beautiful outdoor ceremony under the canopy of our tree of life.
  • Dancing, music and story telling.
  • Photography to capture the day and your attendees.
  • Poem writers and unique artists who can create special take-aways for your guests.
  • Floral packages for the ceremony and for the dinner.
  • Butterfly releases.
  • Riverside ceremonies with the spreading of ashes.
  • Hike up to a gorgeous vista where you can have your ceremony, or spead ashes after your service.
  • We can create themed celebrations for people who loved a certain era, sports team, music, or anything else you can think of!

Note that we are not a funeral home; we are not able to accommodate viewings of the body. Ashes are welcome.

Historic, Rustic-Elegant Property near Harper's Ferry, WV

Your celebration of life will be held at our historic property, Keep Tryst Manor, in Knoxville, Maryland. We are located just across the Shenandoah River from Harpers Ferry, WV.

Our property offers a wide choice of unique, natural ceremony settings. Enjoy our beautiful vintage barn for a private dinner after the ceremony, take in our stunning gardens as well as our bamboo forest chapel. We have room for dancing, live music, a vintage bar for cocktails, and many small, intimate seating areas for quiet chats and times of remembrance.

A gentle reminder - we do not allow bodies or caskets for the service. You may bring your loved one's ashes with you, and we can accommodate a Spreading of Ashes Ceremony.

  • Sit-down dinner with catering options

  • All tables, chairs, decor, set-up, cleanup, furniture, lawn games, pub tables, buffet tables, linens, table settings
  • This price does not include alcohol.

CEREMONY & COCKTAIL HOUR - $8,0000

  • 3 hours at Keep Tryst Manor
